This project aims to reduce amputations in Aboriginal people living in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia (WA) and build the capacity of the Aboriginal Health Workers and Health Practitioners in the Kimberley to play a central role in foot ulcer management. Diabetes WA are funding point of care devices to the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services so remote healthcare providers can accurately image, measure and record diabetic wound/skin healing data during assessments, and specialist care and advice can be obtained quickly via the internet no matter where they are located.
